“Coming Home—for me, it's like coming to rest after a long journey, finding a kind of serenity again,” says Berlin musician Johannes Tibursky about the name he chose for the new album by his music project Tibursky. The album was created with the help of friends from Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, and of course Berlin, where Tibursky recorded the album on his own. In this sense, Coming Home does not necessarily mean returning to a specific place, but rather finding oneself and a new independence and joy of playing after difficult times.

Let the people dance
Single
'Let The People Dance', the latest single from Berlin singer/songwriter Tibursky, rolls in with a trance-like vibe a la New Order or Peter Hook's late 90s side project, Monaco. A bright, life-affirming earworm it's a collaboration with Berlin indie icon Kitty Solaris. Catchy, with a thrusting attitude, it merges pop and electronica with a definite 2025 vibe.

TIBURSKY - "When She Comes Around", indie pop at it's best!
Walking lightly through the evening sun, looking forward to another encounter with her, Tibursky sings his vintage pop song in a relaxed and charming manner, without realising that an old tube microphone is soaking up the mood. As is so often the case with recent songs, the tailor-made lyrics were written by John Stewart in Glasgow, the city where the two songwriters first met many years ago.
"When She Comes Around" is the last single before the long-awaited album release in November 2024 and, as usual, will be released with an atmospheric music video in a few weeks. On the cover you can see the actress Nadja Robine' beautifully staged by photographer Thorsten Eichhorst.

“I will go anywhere”, the new single from Tibursky, ruminates on a mystical journey through distant landscapes and internal dreamscapes. Tinged with sadness yet infused with joy, it speaks to that eternal and unfulfilled yearning we can all understand. Once again the songwriting team of John Stewart (lyrics) and Tibursky (Music) have delivered a work of majesty and exceptional quality, rendered visually by film maker & photographer Thorsten Eichhorst and the stunning, Canadian wilderness. The track will be released worldwide on 5th July 2024.
A Girl like you
Single
The second collaboration by Tibursky and Tiefe Wasser Berlin glides elegantly through its 94 bpm and is therefore fully "downtempo". This is where Tiefe Wasser Berlin really feel at home. With "A Girl like you", Tibursky's voice not only revives a great pop-rock classic (Edwyn Collins 1994) in new colours. The interplay between the mystical 90s sound and Lena's French-pop charm is fun and refreshingly new. The hypnotic beat invites you to sunbathe between these two worlds. The Same Inside
Single
The second single release from the new TIBURSKY album "The Same Inside" once again features a classic band line-up: guitar, bass, drums and keyboard.
The sound is reminiscent of 60s film music at various points, but then changes back to the colourful indie rock sound that TIBURSKY is known for.
Last but not least, thanks to the poetic lyrics by John Stewart from Glasgow, you can also hear small excursions into Britpop.
The music video was shot in the marvellous landscapes above the Austrian Alps.
"The Same Inside" will be released in March 2024 on Tibursky's label Kitchen Records.

Tibursky and Tiefe Wasser Berlin have known each other for many years, have worked on various joint productions and have performed together. Originally intended as a remix for Tibursky's new single "Settle Down", the collaboration resulted in a completely original track. Single-Release on 19th January 2024.

“Settle Down" the first single from the new TIBURSKY album, will be released on January 12, 2024. The album itself (as yet untitled) is expected to be released in early May. The songwriting duo of Johannes Tibursky (Berlin) and John Stewart (Glasgow), combine personal highs and lows – as well as the usual loose and abstract thoughts - on this new collection of songs. In contrast to other songs on the album, "Settle Down" is a driving, danceable, electronic hit in the making, which, while different, still manages to retain elements of the unmistakable TIBURSKY style that we've come to know and love.
”Settle Down - Jaya Shakira Remix” Rousing yet melancholy vocals set to some driving bass sequencers are wonderfully evident in this music video of a road trip through India.
London-based Jaya Shakira, has created a relaxed, ambient remix for the B-side. Further remixes by Berlin artists will be released in the coming weeks.
Following a turbulent 3:47 minutes - played at a suitably high volume - a level of calm soon returns for the final message: "Let emotions settle down". Jaya's remix offers the ideal playlist transition.

The breadth and scope of the subject matter combined with assured and inventive arrangements is also mightily impressive. This was a band that at the peak of their powers was leading us down avenues of hope, despair, darkness and light to emerge renewed, refreshed and invigorated by the journey’s end. TIBURSKY'S unpretentious and sensitive interpretation of a GDR classic from 1987. "Als ich fortging" is a song by the group Karussell. I don´t believe you

Released on 29th July it will be preceded 3 days earlier by an impressive and thought-provoking video animation with accompanying lyrics. With "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU" singer/songwriters Johannes Tibursky and John Stewart have set another milestone in their long-standing collaboration.
This is an anti-war song that playfully displays the easily transparent strategy of a despot. But in the end, it pleads for peace, freedom and a colourful life. Produced, sung and arranged by Tibursky, who will release the single on his Berlin label, Kitchen Records.

Lockdown Sampler
Wafting synthesizers, unpolished guitar riffs and elegiac vocals orchestrate the sound of a disused big city. Wonderful acoustic songs celebrate freedom and love in a transient time. "Ghost City" is like a shining star, a slice of an infinitely wide galaxy of sounds. The sampler shows the bandwidth of the pulsating musical city of Berlin. With the "Lockdown Sampler", the association of the most diverse musicians for this project sets a sign for the power of togetherness and for an optimistic look ahead. 18 bands and songwriters call for music culture and art to be promoted beyond the current crisis and to be preserved for all of us.
